Hey guys I mentioned these will probably be approximately $295 TOTAL with shipping a few times. Shipping in the lower 48 is give or take $15 but to play it safe I rounded up to $20 in the video. The knives are $275 without shipping included. You’re looking at under $300 for these in the US🥰 Hope you enjoy! Thanks so much for the support.

Knife Edge Wear Discussion-Glassy VS Toothy Edges! S60V Blade Steel
Просмотров 65514 дней назад
Disclaimer- in the video, I state that Maxamet is a bearing steel (no idea why I said that since I know what it is) when it’s actually a high-speed tool steel for rollers/cutters etc in machinery. I was saying Maxamet, but thinking 52100. Also- as you can see in the video- the edge started losing it’s bite and glassing out from taking it too high on the stones. This video shows that in between ...

Northern KnifeWorks x Ericasedc Collab: The “MINK”!!!! Cruwear 64 HRC! Introduction Video
*Warning : This posting is LONG….!! You’ve been WARNED ~ Caveat Emptor..🚨 New to your site & as such, your video is Superb! I’m a mid-60’s Army Vet and I have a Passion for Blades - Fixed-Blades/Tomahawks/Swords/etc. and Rifles (not so much sidearms, though). I’ve owned/used many other knife blades steels.., such as 204P, M390 Steels (my 2 MicroTech Fixed blades : The Arbiter & the SOCOM Alpha, respectively typing!), ELMAX Steel (Zero Tolerance ZT 0561 - a folder), INFI Steel (Busse TGULB : my #2), 80CrV2 steel (Winkler II S.A.R. [This knife is equal to a ‘REBAR-INFUSED Slab of GRANITE’ : I know, such things don’t exist, but IF THEY DID..], …it’s THE RMJ Eagle Talon Tomahawk in 80CrV2 steel, THAT would be IT..!! and my RMJ Eagle Talon Tomahawk [#1] - btw, IF you’re ’in The Market’ for THE BEST Tomahawk EVER MADE.., don’t EVEN Think it over, ..get this RMJ Eagle Talon.., NOW, if you can find one, ‘cause they’re rare & WILL Take some effort on your part..!! OK, they’re EXPENSIVE at just North of $500, but if you love blades like I DO - Trust me on this, you’ll NEVER REGRET IT ~ here’s two videos detailing it : 1) ruclips.net/video/vxwzHGeTZPc/видео.htmlsi=-FW4vpkQQe5kZXWp 2) ruclips.net/video/7ZSL_LJKsl8/видео.htmlsi=aisxtMrjCzlykqTG 1075 Steel (TOPS Operator 7) & CPM S45VN Steel (Spartan Blades Horkos) - I mentioned these b/c it shows I’ve used some pretty diverse tools/knives/steels and NEVER have I seen ONE’S Edge Dull like your’s! You made this - as much as one can - about a Scientific Method : Comparing Apples to Apples & not Apples to Oranges ~ KUDOS, Young Lady. Well, except for one, and that is my Spyderco Warrior (in H-1 steel : discontinued sadly & FYI, I have the Full Sized one!). H-1 is a steel you can leave in salt water for an ENTIRE Year & it won’t oxidize, not even a little, yet it’s edge retention SUX..!! My apologies for the lengthy post, it’s the result of overwhelming and precise devotion towards edged weapons & things that go : “..BANG!” Again, I Appreciate & Commend your videos.., 🇺🇸 #2A 🇺🇸
How's it going fam?! I need that fixie!
As always I love your transparency and honesty. So much respect for your integrity and the fact that you’re not bought and paid for by big companies to market their products. However, I would hope that knife makers you collaborate with compensate you with a no charge knife that you helped design. Hopefully someday I’ll get my hands on a “Dart”!!!
Yes! So the knives I help design, I am given for free. But I do not get any part of the money made off my designs when they’re sold. And I don’t want any!!!! I love just being in this because I’m passionate🥰I appreciate you brother!
4V sounds like an interesting steel, I have never messed with it. You are absolutely right on how important edge geometry is. A "lower" and "cheaper" steel can hold an edge longer than a "super steel" if it's edge geometry is good, but the super steels geometry is too obtuse. First decide on the tasks that the knife is to preform, then choose a proper steel for the job, heat treat it for the intended use, and put on the proper edge geometry. When everything is thought out and implemented properly the result is an outstanding tool! The steel and heat treat determine what geometry the knife can support. That geometry can be altered in the workable range according to the tasks at hand. Many times if you have some of those tiny rolls a steeper micro bevel will solve the problem. The advantage of this is that the knife will also be faster to sharpen since the micro bevel is so small.
You got it K!!! Geometry over rides a LOT in a knife!!! 4V is a BLAST!!Thanks so much for watching!
You’re so transparent and honest in your testing and reviews!!! I wonder how many knives get fully tested before makers start selling them to customers! Great job to you and Levi!!!
Thank you so much best!!!
Love it!! I added a choil onto a couple of my knives and it’s so much better!😊
Definitely easier to sharpen the bevel fully and correctly!
Thanks for sharing about your EDC and I look forward to the upcoming reviews. I too find that my Super Tinker is the one SAK that always winds up in my pocket over all the other ones I own. 👍 Take care and Cheers!
It’s just too good!
Take care ST! Thanks for always stopping by!
that is a nice knife! and great to hear of the testing! "just a hair" can be a much bigger difference than you might think. when I first got into making straight razors, i started measuring things like that. most of the head hair that i measured was between .003"-.006" in diameter. if you take a normal edc class knife and run the edge at .010" at the shoulder of the edge, then just a hair thicker might be .016" which is 60% more. thats a lot more.
Exactly!!!! Geometry is so important and I don’t think everyone knows how crucial it is!!! Thanks so much for watching Joe. I always enjoy hearing from you!
I get why people like magnets on their lights. But I dislike how Olight forces you to have one on every single model. I already don't like them for other reasons. If you're gonna buy a Chinese light, I think you get way more from companies like Acebeam and Lumintop.
That’s a good point!
Thank u for your channel. I would love to see u do this sharpening with a Maxamet blade. I have used your exact method on my Spyderco Native in Maxamet steel. Removing the burr wasn’t as easy is you did with your knife. I have been sharpening for 65 years and this is one of the hardest burr removals I have experienced. Keep up the great work.
I will record that for you! Thanks so much for watching!
Nice follow up on the knife👍. How many prototypes did you guys build before you nailed your final design? Have a great day tomorrow Ms E.🇺🇲🔪🌲🔥
Just one!!! Thanks man- have an awesome day!!!
Carrying my Spyderco Manix 2 in S30V, chrome version of the space pen with the removable pocket clip, a Bic lighter, a cleaning cloth and as always my MiniBuck Tool which I've had in my pocket since 1997, maybe 98... I have quite a few fixed blade knives, and I've never thought to check bevel angles or the thickness behind the edge. I think I have some homework to do. Good video. Thanks Erica.
That is a sweet carry! Thanks for sharing brother. And thanks for watching!!!! BTE and DPS really impacts performance!
Hey Erica, I am wanting to get into k390, but I’m a bit low on coin. Does spyderco do a good ht on there k390, or should I hold out and try to save up for a custom? Thanks.

Gotta love the super tinker. It’s the scissors for me. Can’t go without them. I tried the tinker deluxe for a while but never used the pliers and found it too bulky. I don’t know who that Peter guy is but fuck him
I love the scissors!!!! And it’s ok he’s just two faced - no time for that in my life haha
😂 awesome. Keep up the great work. You feel like the only edc channel that actually uses their knives

Wahoo!!!🎉
I love that Nitro V knife. I’ve got a couple knives in that. Also have one in 4V. It’s cool you mentioned Nick Shabazz. Like that guy. He’s hilarious. If you are bored sometime. Watch Nicks video where he goes through TSA confiscated knives. You will belly laugh. It was GREAT!

Hey Erica. Have you used Shapton Glass stones? Would Maxamet be tamed on them? Gotta ask as I value your sharpening experience , far better than I am. Hope you're well :)

Hey there! Thanks so much for stopping by. I appreciate the support! 😊❤
I like Sodbusters. They're pretty good, solid knives. I've used them for years. There are knives with harder steel and better fit and finish, but not for the price of a Sodbuster. That's a factor.
Love soddy’s!
The handle colors are on point with this one. I think price wise it’s definitely worth the cash 💰. You guys are doing some awesome releases.
Thanks so much Doggone, I appreciate that!

This Otter be a great one. Good choice on materials, NITRO-V is a good steel, very similar to 14C28N. I have a bunch of knives in either of these blade steels, all have performed very well. I like the design of this knife but I'm going to miss the drop as I've spent all my cash on a vacation that I just got back from. I'll be looking for one in a couple months. 😁. Glad you got the 940 out for size comparison as I own one. I have large hands so this was a good gage.
Thanks so much my brother!

I think they wanted to kill two birds with one stone. Shut down S30V and VG10 by stepping right between them with SPY27. It just didn't work.
I have some Venev stones I use just for refining and polishing my edges. That saved me the price of buying a whole set of them. I use my DMT stones to set the apex, and the Venev to refine and polish.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
I use a small diamond round file for this, as it gives you very good control and gets the job done cleanly and relatively quickly.
Thanks for sharing and watching!
